Background & Personality

Cael holds a quiet and stoic aura, almost soldier-like at times when he is serious, brought up from his independent upbringing. He always has an aura of power and calm about him, but he can be a terrifying creature to behold in behemoth form, capable of stomping anything in his way. He is not afraid of showing his interest or acting on his own executive decisions, and is open, but wary of other individuals. On the other hand, he also has a childlike curiosity towards deeper feelings and empathy to which he does not have the trained ability to have.

Cael was born the son of a female Behemoth and dragon father. During his developmental years, he was stolen away from the eyes of the world by his mother. His father, he never came to meet.

He lived in isolation within caves while being watched under the unmoving eye of his mother. Any rebellion coming from him would be snuffed easily by her, and she barely spoke to him about his identity. During his adolescence, however, the fateful happened: his mother perished, swallowed by a sandy maelstrom while away from the river which he lived nearby.

Now that he was truly alone, confusion of the existence of a higher power capable of disastrous miracles terrified him. He wandered far, and into the desert, alone until he met a dragon who came from beyond the Mediterranean. Stories of farther planes beyond the desert stirred Cael's spirit. He was given a new voice and found his wings. From then on, he journeyed to the north, travelling and learning as much as he could - of the beasts of the land and air, the dwellers of the sea, and the humanoids in their little houses. He reached Greece, the home of his dragon friend, and settled his home there.

Abilities

The behemoth was an unstoppable, fearless creature. A plant-eater that lives near water and is at home even in a raging river. The behemoth is very strong and muscular, incredibly powerful and frightening to behold. It ranked first among the works of God, and only its Creator could master it. Hunting the behemoth is futile, because it cannot be captured. "The pride and glory of man paled in comparison to the dreadful, untamable strength of the behemoth".

It is said that once a year on the summer solstice (June 21), the behemoth's strength reaches its peak. The behemoth lets out a loud roar that makes all animals tremble with fear, and thus renders them less ferocious for a whole year. As a result, weak animals live in safety away from the outreach of wild animals. This mythical phenomenon is shown as an example of divine mercy and goodness. Without Behemoth's roar, traditions narrate, animals would grow more wild and ferocious, and hence go around butchering each other and humans.
